Trip

Regular whale watching expeditions began in this area in 1996: a journey of expected thrills on the open seas.

The excursion lasts some 4 hours from when the boat heads out towards the watery horizon. The idea is to sight and observe a wide range of resident mammal species in their natural habitat, the International Cetacean Sanctuary.

Once out of the great port of Genoa, after about 30 minutes of sailing, the ocean floor is about 1000 to 1500 meters deep and the likelihood of a sighting increases by leaps and bounds. It is at that point that, to ensure the success of the excursion, passengers become active participants, along with the crew onboard, in the patient scouring of the horizon for signs indicating the presence of the large fish.

There is always a marine biologist on board to comment on the sightings, identify the species, provide information and acquire research data.

escursione

The excursion is ideal for everyone, regardless of age, and we recommend you come equipped with comfortable clothing and footwear, a wind jacket, hat and sunglasses, as well as protective creams. Cameras and binoculars are, obviously, also a must.

Should there be no sightings during your trip, you can use your ticket to go on another whale watching excursion.

Whale watching excursions will be cancelled if the seas are rough and/or the weather conditions prohibitive. Not only is this for your safety, but in bad weather the chances of seeing a cetacean are drastically reduced, making the excursion a waste of time and valuable energy. The best conditions for sighting whales and dolphins are smooth seas and little or no wind.

That said, we look forward to welcoming you on board to share this amazing experience, to let you enjoy

the freedom of the open seas as you watch these incredibly fascinating animals.
